World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

The level of an Best item upgrader can help players evaluate the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it will be able to deal. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the level of the item.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories on how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using an equation that determines how valuable an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

This isn't the only thing that affects the value of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, while items with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade item (find more information) an item with a specific stat or reroll affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item level, and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game and is thus more beneficial in early game runs than later ones because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the luck of an item, up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item level upgrade, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
