15 Up-And-Coming Trends About Audi G28
How to Replace an audi tt key fob A3 Spare Key (Www.Dermandar.Com) G28 Engine Speed Sensor
In this video Charles the humble mechanic demonstrates how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. The sensor is situated near the edges of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via a grey wire T55/49, then to the tachometer in the instrument cluster.
1. Engine Speed Sensor
The grey wire is located at the edges of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor transmits signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then uses this information to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends signals to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.
The sensor is used as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the location of the camshaft to trigger the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails the ECU will throw a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are not in sync and could indicate chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It is a little tricky to test because there are several pins on the connector, and each has its own functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is functional, it should read about 1000 ohms. Examine for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this part.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when accelerating from highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant reduction in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, 3 were drenched with gazoline the fourth one was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on the top of each of the injector holes, the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th stays shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found zero ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The replacement car key audi will start if the G28 is unplugged and it runs perfectly when it is plugged in but it still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows temperatures of -49c. Also i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I don't know what to do. I think I've eliminated everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and both work on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate an extra in a wrecking shop or a parts store. It is easy to test them: simply put your DMM into resistance mode and determine the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector's end facing up). They must be infinite ohms.
4. ECU
The ECU of our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines needs to know both the speed and position of the crankshaft to determine fuel injector timing, etc. It uses a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If you encounter a problem with either one of these, the diagnostic scanner will show codes that could cause the engine shutting down.
A malfunctioning G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate gearbox speed counter, a gearbox that shifts more quickly than normal, and/or a misfire in the gear. If you are experiencing any of these problems, it is likely that your sensor is failing and should be replaced. They're inexpensive and easy to locate, especially if they're a Bosch model like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part is an option.
5. Tachometer
A failing engine sensor could cause a myriad of issues in your vehicle. It's an essential component of the transmission in your audi keyless go since it sends information to the ECU on how fast or slow the engine of the car is spinning. When this sensor fails, it could affect the performance of the transmission, as well as the other car's components.
The G5 engine sensor is located at the edge of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. It transmits a signal via an uncolored wire to the ECU pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate the amount of fuel and boost, and also to timigrate. It also sends it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can determine if the sensor is in failure by checking continuity from the sensor to the tachometer. Also, you can verify continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79trace [79]), and between pin T6a/1 as well as pin T26a/12. You should observe around 1000 ohms of resistance between those two pins. This is a standard part that is found across the audi car key replacement cost 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC to the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU. Good ones could be available in wrecking yards.
